Going to the Zoo

Hi, kids!

Some of you spent (= passaram) the day at the Lisbon Zoo with school today and some of you are going tomorrow. Lucky you!!!

Please remember to take some photos of your favorite animals and send them to me by email. I will put them in our blog. Let's see who are the good photographers!    And don't forget to write something here about your day at the Zoo.

See you in class on Friday. Enjoy your time tomorrow!

Hugs from your English teacher

Here are some photos taken by André N. (5. D):

Friday, 19th May

This morning in class I asked 5. D and then 5. E to write about their visit to the Zoo last Wednesday. Since they haven't learned the Simple Past, I asked them to write in the S. Present. Three students in each class went to the board to write what they and their colleagues suggested. They were very excited and all wanted to speak at the same time, because they had so many things to say. It was a great time to learn new vocabulary and to review things already learned. Enjoy!

A visit to the Zoo (5. D)

We go to the Zoo on Wednesday the seventeenth of May (17th May). We leave at half past nine and come back at five o'clock. There are two buses, about eighty students and six teachers.

We see peacocks with blue, green and yellow feathers, pink and white flamingos, and many others.

We also see elephants, lions, rhinos, camels and hippos. Next we see the reptilarium, the monkeys and gorillas, the dolphin show, and the little farm with goats, cows, chickens, donkeys, ponies and ducks.

We have lunch there: pizza, potato chips, cheeseburger, sandwiches and juice.

We like very much. It is fun and useful for Science and Area de Projecto (Project Area).

Dafne, here's a picture of the giraffes in their environment taken by Gonçalo (5. D) just for you! I'm also including a close-up of these very elegant giraffes. Isn't he a great photographer?

Daf, here's another beautiful picture of a giraffe taken by André N. (5. D). Guess what? I also love giraffes!

Gonçalo, see how much Daf loved your very nice attitude (= vê quanto Daf adorou a tua atitude tão simpática) with these photos you took for her. Here's a message she wrote in her blog about it: A gift from Portugal! What a nice title!

I just saw it (15Jun06) when preparing a presentation that I will give tomorrow afternoon for her colleagues at the university about our blogs.

Going to the Zoo (5. E)

We go to the Zoo on Wednesday the seventeenth of May (17 May 2006).

We leave the school at half past nine and come back at five o'clock. There are two buses, about one hundred students and eight teachers.

When we arrive, we see many birds: parrots, eagles, peacocks with their green, yellow, blue and black feathers, and flamingos.

We also see elephants, giraffes, lions, bears, hippos, monkeys, white tigers, rhinos  and sea lions.

Next we see the dolphins and the little farm.
