Hi, girls!
I'm very glad that you visited me in Room 14 at one o'clock today. Filipa, I liked your conversation in English with me. ![]()
Here's my "helping hand" (= ajuda)! I hope these exercises will help you for the test next Friday.
Hugs from your English teacher, always

Hi, kids!
School is over and the holidays are here till mid-September. At the beach, in the countryside (= no campo), camping, travelling abroad (= to another country), staying at home, playing with friends or with the computer, have a wonderful time! Rest and relax.
But don't forget your English teacher!!! I will be here and I will visit our blogs daily to see if there are new messages from my dear friends. Please write about your holidays or just to say "Hello"!
By the way (= a propósito), do you know what "HELLO" means? Take a look!

In a few days I'm going to leave a last message in the "CALL Lessons" blog with links (= ligações) to sites that we worked with in the past two years. I hope they will be useful and enjoyable. And don't forget to read some very nice messages from our teacher-friends about your "brilliant" work with the interviews in CALL Lesson 11.
It was a great pleasure to be your English teacher in 5th and 6th grades. And your friend, always. We had some wonderful times and great laughs (= grandes risotas) together. And we had many new experiences.
Above all, "you" learned quite a lot in my classes and, two years later, showed what you can do, a fabulous "grand finale": interviewing three "mystery guests" online in a first-time ever voice chat. And "I" learned with you! "Thank you" for these great two years!
Hugs and kisses from your "crazy and radical" teacher

The 7 wonders of Portugal and the New 7 Wonders of the World were announced this evening in Lisbon at a fabulous event in Luz Stadium. Here are the results!

It's Margarida's (6.C) birthday today and we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her in class this morning. She loved it!
Click the image above to listen to our great singing!!!
Here are Juliana and Miguel (6.C) telling us what we did in class between May 7 and May 31 (4 weeks). Well done to both!
"In May we talked about places to go when we go out and we studied 'can', 'may' and 'must'. And we wrote rules for the classroom with 'must'. We practiced answering questions and asking questions. We learned the 'imperative' with classroom commands. We talked about means of transportation. And we had our final test. We also had two "Provas de Aferição" (Standard Assessment Tests) in Math and Portuguese."
Click on the image below and see the e-card for Raquel (6.C). She had an operation this week.
Hi, kids!
Here are twelve drawings that several students in the three classes did after the test last week. Thank you all for all the lovely art work in your Art Gallery 06-07!
This little drawing is by InêsT in 6.C. It's me "bang, bang(ing)" her in class. Am I right? I love it! I love all the little details (= pequenos detalhes) on both desks. Very creative! And I'm so elegant!!!!! Thank you, Inês, for making me look so thin!
BTW (= by the way / a propósito), I think you have a future in design! Go for it!
Enjoy! Hugs and kisses to all!!!!

Hi, kids!
To celebrate this day with you all, here is my Cerifticate of Appreciation for your work in the two blogs.
Enjoy your day!

I have added (= acrescentei) two "reading comprehension" exercises, each one with a text and several questions to give you lots of practice for the June test.
Please tell me if they help you. Enjoy!

Hi, kids!
Tuesday (tomorrow) and Thursday morning you have your "Prova de Aferição" (SAT, or Standard Assessment Test) in Portuguese and Math, respectively. I hope you have studied, feel prepared and do well.
All 4th grade and 6th grade students in Portugal, Açores and Madeira will do the same test at the same time. Can you imagine the number of students involved?!
I will be on duty in a classroom on both mornings. Maybe I'll see some of you there.
Remember: concentrate 100%, pay attention to the questions, read them carefully, and think about your answer before you write it down. Good luck!
Hi, kids!
How did you spend your weekend? I mean, what did you do on Friday evening, on Saturday and on Sunday? Did you have fun? Did you go to a party? Did you go camping? Did you go to the beach? Did you play computer games? Did you study for a test?
Here is what I did and didn't do. On Friday I went out for dinner. On Saturday I stayed at home. I didn't go out for a walk. In the afternoon I worked on the computer with three friends: Rita in Argentina. Dennis Oliver, our great friend and fan, in Phoenix, Arizona, and later I worked with Dafne in Venezuela. I didn't go out for dinner, but I went to bed early and read a lot. I love reading!
Now it's your turn to tell us what you did. I hope you enjoyed yourself!
If you fee like (= te apetecer) practising verbs in the Simple Past in a fun way, here are two sets of exercises that I'm sure you will enjoy!
